Now for those of you who like deep characterization, you will want to treat yourself to Robin Hobb's take on the epic dream genre. In this series, character development is constantly critical. But, the story, plot, and brilliant, wonderful world just draw you right in. The series has been around for a few years, however it's still a traditional epic dream that must be read by every dream enthusiast. Forget all the David Eddings crap and go for this!
Roland: OpenVMS was and still is the most sophisticated operating system ever produced by mankind. In the 1980's VMS gave the company world clustering and set the standard so high no other operating system has actually even come close to the execution. There are a great deal of OS's and suppliers of OS's who will claim they have "clustering" but it is untrue. They have to spin a brand-new meaning of clustering, in many cases down to "we can spell the word clustering therefore we must have it." No version of Unix or Linux in fact clusters. This is something Oracle is discovering the difficult way with their RAC10 product and some much publicized travel website blackouts.
Before you ran out looking for foreclosed apartments badly in need of painting, have perseverance and surface this post. Many of such books are variations of the Popular book series of the 19th century - "How you can end up being a Pleased Millionaire".
I'll confess, when I initially began reading the novel, it took me about 30-40 pages before I was hooked. Those first 30-40 pages took me a few weeks and a number of times of taking a seat before I survived them. I didn't discover Book genres myself engaged until after those first pages. Once there, I could not put the book down. Now, my attention period is short, so don't blame the book, but give credit where due: the rest of the book is so engaging that even my attention deficit disorder wasn't a problem.
